Hi guys! Welcome to the gallery! 
I’m Tom, a 24 years old Brit for the flat Broadlands of Norfolk, UK. As you can see from my gallery I’m a keen, if rather inexperienced, amateur photographer and have been for the past two years or so. My camera (a Canon EOS 400D) goes with me wherever I go and has been a trusted companion for quite some time. There is still a HUGE amount I still need to learn before I consider myself a true photographer, but that is why I joined dA in the first place, to learn new skills and grow. I’m getting there slowly but surely. :)
What else can I tell you about myself? Well, I’m a Geochemistry and Environmental science student, new school skier, beginner surfer and lover of surf culture, a total game geek, blogger and occasional guitar strummer. I also parshal to films, both good and bad. But most of all, say one thing of the little sparrow Alcamin, say that he loves the natural world and wants to help protect it any way he can!
Oh! Did I mention geek? Yes? Good.

Hello, good people of deviantART!
How are things going? Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Things have been crazy busy around here lately. It seems that my life has been completely consumed by uni work, to the detriment of virtually everything else. It's been a stressful couple of months, but it seems to be paying off, as I'm keeping up a 90% average, so hopefully I'll be able to keep that up. The other major new time sink in my life is work. After a successful interview, I managed to get a job working for Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve, run by Suffolk Wildlife Trust. It's been an interesting and often tiring experience

Last year, Earth Hour was an understand event as far as I remember, due to the fact that I had a stinking cold and a mind filled with equations and ocean current charts, but like many millions of people around the world I took part. At 8:30 pm GMT, on 27th March 2010, I closed the textbooks, shut down the computer, switched off the lights, wrapped up warm and stepped out into the cool evening air. In my ill state that may for not have been the best idea in the world, but I wanted to watch the lights from across the river. Busy, busy, busy!

Good day, dA! How's everything going?
What a crazy few months it has been! Since New Year's I've hardly had time to breath, what with studying, health stuff and a new job.
First things first, the job. After several months of looking around, and a lot of um'ing and err'ing, I finally found something that will give me the experience in the conservation field I have been looking for. So, I went for an interview at Carlton Marsh, run by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust here in the UK, and was offered a training position on the spot. I can't tell you how good that felt! In a few days, it is going to be a relatively normal day...for most. But not for you. For on that day...it will be a good day to revel in the moment that you were cast down upon this Earth, summoned and placed here by the mighty Odin to share your talents and your creativity with all. Let thee rejoice and enjoy this time, and know you are wished a Happy Birthday! May many more follow!
