Protective Walls

These are the outer walls of Niedzica Castle (also know as Dunajec Castle) which is in Southern Poland. It was built in the 1320’s and dominates the mouth of the River Dunajec. I don’t know a huge amount about it because it was not possible to go inside (in was closed that day for some reason ) so if you want to find out a bit about it then have a look at the link above.

It looked like a great place though with those huge towering white walls and imposing path up to the main gate. And what a place to build it! You can’t see in this picture (wait for tomorrow for more pics) but there is a huge lake off to the left and the autumn colours really made the whole area beautiful. So even though I couldn’t look around the interior it was still a nice afternoon out.
